  16. This file contains a revision of the NetWare 3.1x PCN2L.LAN file.  The
  17. PCN2L.LAN file fixes a Remote Program Load problem.  The problem occurs
  18. when booting a workstation, which receives no response from the server, and
  19. the counter, located in the upper right hand corner of the workstation's
  20. screen, continues to increment.

  39. This README file of PCN23X.EXE accompanies PCN2L.LAN OS Driver for NetWare
  40. 386 v3.1x.

  42. Purpose:

  44. This revision of PCN2L.LAN resolves a Remote Program Load problem where
  45. upon booting the workstation receives no response from the server and the
  46. counter (located in the upper right hand corner of the workstation's
  47. screen) continues to increment.

  50. Installation:
  51.  
  52. To install this new LAN DRIVER:
  53.  
  54. 1.  Unload the PCN2L.LAN driver at the file server console.
  55.  
  56.        COMMAND SYNTAX:  UNLOAD PCN2L
  57.  
  58. 2.  Login to as supervisor and flag PCN2L.LAN as SRW
  59. (sharable,read,write).
  60.  
  61. 3.  Rename the old PCN2L.LAN driver in the SYS:SYSTEM directory for backup
  62. purposes and copy the new PCN2L.LAN file to the same directory on the
  63. fileserver.
  64.  
  65. 4.  Flag the new copy of PCN2L.LAN as SRO (sharable,read-only).
  66.  
  67. 5.  Load the new PCN2L.LAN driver at the file server console.

  69.        COMMAND SYNTAX:  LOAD PCN2L

  71. 6.  Bind IPX to the PCN2L driver.

  73.        COMMAND SYNTAX:  BIND IPX to PCN2L  net=<netaddress>
